GETTING AROUND BATAM

Batam Taxis

Getting around Batam is quite easy as Batam has several taxi companies providing their services. All the ferry terminals, the airport, all the major hotels & resorts, golf courses and shopping centers have taxi stands with taxis available at most times.

The taxis are modern vehicles with air-con and CB radio. Batam has not yet introduced taxi meters to all taxis, so you will need to check the price with the driver before departing and negotiate if required.

Taxis can be used for short trips or hired for half or full days. Check with the taxi company or driver for details.

Batam Car Rental

Car Rental is available in Batam and there are many different types of vehicles to choose from to suit your taste or budget. You can rent with or without a driver. Drivers are local and experienced, so they can help you to get to where you want to go and offer advice about places to visit, etc.

If you prefer to drive yourself then you will require a valid driver’s licence that is still current in your country, and suitable for the vehicle you are renting.
